Want some satisfaction on Saturday afternoon? You might not get it with the rugby (just saying - it depends whose side you're on...)
And there's nothing to beat smashing a personal best - or getting in an unexpected, cheeky workout.
What could be more delightful than pedalling almost vertically up the virtual road to Arvoriaz? (Answer: nothing.)
Join us for a Rainy Day Ride on Saturday at 2pm. Our ride sets out from the stunning lakeside bar at Montriond..breathtaking aqua blue water and shady tree line is soon left behind as we take a gradually increasing, leg-sapping 6-7% gradient climb.
First, along wide, brain fuddling-roads before eventually battling though a brief set of epic switch backs.. be prepared to be hassled from behind by the squealing airbrakes of tourists coaches as you ascend in your red zone...talk to the hill... face off with the tarmac…
Eventually find yourself skidding on goat poo, for you have arrived in Les Lindarets, ‘Goat Village’...but the climb isn’t over yet...
We are approaching a craggy top and some more undulations before we hit the 3rd 10% segment of the ride…
At this point you need to go full 'Ivor the Engine' and "think you can" all the way to the top. It's the only way.
Join your mountain guide, niftier than a she-goat, Jools is packing the cheese and pickle sandwiches, malt loaf and Irn Bru. Join her for the shortest (and sweatiest) 90 mins of your life. This session is challenging, but you'll be in great company - and by the end, you'll know you've achieved something really special.
