We tried fixing the weather, but that didn't work. So instead, we've set up a neat little workaround. For those Saturdays when riding out isn't looking appetising, we're running a special 90min feature ride in the studio. We'll be checking the forecast, and if it's not looking great, we'll put on a special session.
Each ride will start at 2pm and last for 90mins. It will follow a designated virtual route, and it will be run by the wonderful Jools.
The first inaugural Rainy Day Ride is this Saturday at 2pm. Expect 90mins of a pure hilltastic sweatfest. We're heading for the Col de la Madeleine. A luscious ascent that just keeps, well, ascending. Beloved of the Tour de France chaps - and you'll be home and dry in 90.
This climb has featured 25 times in the TDF and contains 40 Hairpins, finishing in the high mountain ski slopes. A gradient average of 8% (with a max of 13% ..ouch) The route has been adapted by Jools (Who has been up it!) to give you a challenging and ride-focused real experienced, push your metabolic capacity and lactic threshold and answer the calling of ‘The Climb’…
It’s gonna be tough. But so are you. Join Us. 90 minutes. Col de la Madeleine.
