When it's done properly, indoor cycling is super-effective and nice. You get great results, you don't have to spend so long working out, and well, it's just lovely. Especially for those of us who have lots of other things we need to be doing with our time.
Let's do some myth-busting.
It's the same workout, EVERY time you go
Um nope. It is really important to vary the intensity of your workouts to maximise the results you get. Ever slogged your guts out in class only to be really disappointed when you take stock and wonder where the results are? Most people have been in the same position. It's not unusual.
That's why at Fox we have different types of classes that focus on different aspects of fitness.
You get pushed too far out of your comfort zone
Nope. When indoor cycling is done properly, you stay in control of your workout - no one's going to be scrutinising what you're doing (besides the instructor making sure you stay safe). You'll be able to see what's coming next, pace yourself, and just knock off a bit of resistance if you're working too hard. You get to be in charge. The key is to enjoy your workouts from the very first one. If you enjoy it, you'll get so much more out of it.
Arrive early and have a chat with the instructor so you can be set up comfortably on the bike - and contact me if you'd like help planning your workout week for the best results and a schedule that works for you.
It's not fun
It should always be fun. At first, just concentrate on having a good time. As your confidence builds you can think about pushing yourself harder - but it should never hurt, and it should never be horrible. Enjoy the tunes, enjoy the nice, friendly riders, the nurturing yet challenging instructors, and enjoy giving your body a great, healthy workout.
We're with you, and we care.
At Fox we bring you sessions that have been specially created to give you an effective workout - so you get more benefit in less time.
