Fox Cycling has been selected by BodyBike to be the UK showcase studio - which means that new BodyBikes arrived this week!
"I think it was tempting for BodyBike to choose a studio in London," says Steve Fox, "But they liked what we're doing with our training arm, Fox Training, which trains and develops instructors from scratch to raise the standard of studio cycling in the UK as well as Europe. In fact they liked it so much, they made us BodyBike master trainers!"
The Fox Studio has also been made the UK showcase studio for Globeracer (cinematic cycling) too: "It's an exciting time for the studio, we are master trainers for both international fitness brands, which is something we're very serious about. We want to provide the very best experience we can wherever our riders are at with their fitness, and enabling other venues to provide the same quality is so important to us."
The BodyBike Smart+ is at the peak of sports innovation - super accurate tracking of power and you can also pair your heartrate strap to the bike, using an app on your phone as the bike's console. And that means that when you step away from your workout, you can take your results with you, so you can record your increasing fitness with improved power!
Get started by downloading the BodyBike app from GooglePlay or the appstore, and let's go!
If you thought you'd seen a bit more than usual of Grandad* at Fox, you'd be right. During June, he's been pedalling his socks off to reach 10,000 MEPs in a month.
Yep, that's not a typo. 10,000. For those not in the know, MEP stands for MyZone Effort Point, and as we use heatrate tracking in the studio, riders get points for working at different intensities. The most a rider can earn in one minute is 4. Which means during June, Grandad has done more than 41 hours of physical activity.
How did he do it?
"I'm back to doing more cycling sessions in the studio, which I enjoy, and I did a lot of digging in the garden this month; I wanted to see how good it was as a form of exercise so I wore my MyZone strap as I worked - I was earning about 1-2 MEPs per minute in the garden."
Interestingly we had other riders who completed various cycling challenges in the same month (including John O'Groats to Land's End), and yet, Grandad with his studio sessions and gardening managed to beat everyone!
"I just wanted to challenge myself," he said. "It's important tokeep pushing a little bit harder. I really want to thank Fox for being so supportive and helping me to become fitter than I was 20 years ago."
And that is our pleasure! Tailored workouts just for you, friendly classes, and a warm welcome.
*That's not us being rude - Grandad earned this nickname after the birth of his first grandchild.
