Skipper, fox studio cycling instructor
I’ve been a keen cyclist all my life, whether riding to school or college, or more recently doing longer distance Audax rides around Wales and the Southwest.
Never happier than getting out and about on two wheels with my equally cycle-driven partner Trudy, we enjoy hitting the road as well as joining in at the Fox studio cycling classes.
My professional life has been centred on ships and water, and I recently celebrated my 40th anniversary as a merchant seafarer sailing the world over, but latterly as a Bristol Channel pilot.
I recently qualified as a studio cycling instructor with Fox, and I see this is a fantastic chance to lead out from the front helping people reach their fitness goals as well as enjoying being part of the friendly Fox family at the studio.
1. Something personal about yourself.
I live in Portishead with Trudy and one very fat cat as well as my children (too numerous to mention).
2. Your top three favourite things.
Being out in the fresh air, either on my bike, paddleboard or walking with the family along the beach.
3. What do you love about studio cycling?
The feeling of achievement at the end of the class.
4. What do you want people to get out of your classes?
Leaving feeling fulfilled, sweaty and happy!
5. What/who inspires you?
My dad inspired me to keep going, no matter what.
6. What do you think customers like about Fox Studio Cycling?
The feeling of being part of a friendly studio where what they like matters.
7. Top tip for studio cycling.
Believe in yourself and when in doubt, sign up for the next class!
8. Who would you most like to have in your class?
The British ladies Olympic hockey team. It was so obvious that they worked as a team, enjoyed each other’s company and achieved theirs goals together. All with a smile and good humour.
Just like here at Fox.
